Beaufort County Relay for Life schedule – April 30, 2021

From the Beaufort County Relay for Life 

The annual Beaufort County Relay for Life event will be held Friday, April 30, 2021 on the Beaufort County Community College campus. The schedule for the event is listed below. 

Team site set up begins at 5 p.m. Survivor car parade line up and decoration begins at 5:30 p.m. Car decorations are optional but suggested.  Music begins at 6:45 p.m. and will be provided by Cierra Linton, DC Linton and Gary Braddy.

Opening ceremonies begin at 7:30 p.m. with all following events happening in this order:

  • Welcome
  • Opening prayer with Pastor David Linton
  • Flag presentation and National Anthem with the Honor Guard and Beaufort County Sheriff’s Department
  • What cancer cannot do
  • Celebration of hope cancer survivor car parade with judging done by Relay attendees by car noise
  • Celebration of hope caregiver appreciation car horn salute
  • Car light wave

  • Hope in Beaufort County
  • Presentation of Hope Warriors with the Relay planning committee, relay teams and corporate sponsors

  • Cancer survivor journey of hope with Loretta Bailey, Wendy Jones and Mindy Davis

  • Award presentation for best survivor’s car, best team themes and most monies raised 
  • Total raised

Night of hope reflection and remembrance luminary ceremony

  • Every candle has a name
  • Today’s joys and yesterday’s memories video
  • Amazing Grace performed by Randy Tyson
  • Rise up
  • Luminary viewing with music by Cierra Linton, DC Linton and Gary Braddy
  • Photo booth for selfies available upon exits

All individuals involved or participating in Relay for Life must remain in their vehicles throughout the event. Masks are required and the event will be following all restrictions currently recommended to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
